Not every statement in the Quran is meant to be turned into a sweeping general rule. General lessons require careful understanding. Context matters. Who is speaking? Who is being addressed? What is the surrounding passage doing?

The Quran describes its verses as being stitched together. That means no ayah stands alone. It belongs to a larger structure inside its surah and often connects to other places in the Quran.

The same caution applies when using hadith. Not every statement was meant to be universalized. Context, audience and circumstance shape meaning. Without that awareness, we risk misapplying sacred words or worse, saying things the Prophet ﷺ never intended.
