Salvation in Islam: Does Islam condemn all non-Muslims to Hell? A Theological response by Dr. Yasir Qadhi
This was by far one of the most daunting academic talks I have ever given. Not only were there very influential and famous academics in the room (far senior to me in age and prestige in the academic world – which is very, very different than the world of dawah that I am more accustomed to), I was in essence the only one preaching this position explicitly, and it was NOT a popular position amongst most of the conference attendees!
The topic of the entire conference was the question of Salvific Exclusivity in Islam: can others, outside of the faith, ever have hope of salvation? My position basically defended the standard, orthodox view, but with a few caveats.
