The Quran and the prophetic traditions heavily emphasize modesty (Haya) and guarding one’s senses. Islam teaches that every action, including what the eyes gaze upon and what the ears listen to, is meticulously recorded and will be accounted for on the Day of Judgement. Engaging with vulgarity or indecent content is believed to erode spiritual purity, cloud the heart, and weaken a believer’s connection with Allah, causing the angels of mercy and protection to distance themselves.
