Shaykh Abdullah Oduro starts off this khutbah by reminding us that among the most virtuous things a Muslim can do is to pray in congregation. Yet many of us stop praying at the mosque as soon as Ramadan ends. In the month of Shawwal we should look in the mirror and honestly ask ourselves if we have already gone back to our pre-Ramadan mode. In this month we must try our best to follow the sunnah and fast six days. In Shawwal we must hold ourselves accountable, think carefully about what we could have done better in Ramadan and ask Allah to make our hearts firm on His religion.
