In this snippet from Deeper Look: Surah Al-Ahzab, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan shares a striking insight: when we send Salawat upon the Prophet ﷺ, we’re not just honoring him—we’re following Allah’s lead. The ayah says it clearly: إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ (33:56). Allah Himself sends salawat. The angels do too. We’re being invited to join a divine practice.

But here’s the deeper point—this isn’t just about words. It’s about how we see the Prophet ﷺ. He may have walked among people, dressed simply, lived humbly—but heaven never lost sight of who he truly is. Salawat is a way for us to align our hearts with that heavenly perspective. A way to keep our reverence alive, even in his physical absence.

It’s not a ritual of love. It’s a reflection of loyalty.
