In this short snippet from our Deeper Look Series: Surah Al-Mursalat, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan explains a powerful lesson from the Quran about Judgment Day and the value of repentance before it is too late. The Quran describes scenes where disbelievers try to speak, make excuses or plead for another chance, yet their words carry no weight. Their books, their limbs and even the earth will testify against them instead. Allah says: “وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ” “They will not be permitted to present excuses” (77:36).
So long as you are alive, Allah listens to your du‘aa, your regret and your tawbah. Once Judgment Day begins, no apology or excuse will matter. This reminder is not meant to drive despair, it is meant to give hope. If you are still breathing, Allah has already given you another chance.
