After Srebrenica’s masjids were destroyed, people returned, rebuilt, and kept faith alive.

In Srebrenica, nearly every masjid was destroyed. Forty-eight places of prayer reduced to rubble.

Try to imagine that. Not just buildings, but the silence that followed. The absence of adhan. The loss of community spaces where generations learned how to pray, forgive, and hope.

And yet, today, adhan is heard again. Masjids stand again. People returned, rebuilt, and refused to let faith disappear.

Srebrenica reminds us of something uncomfortable and powerful at the same time: destruction can be intentional, but so can rebuilding.

Faith survives because people carry it, even when everything else is taken away.
