The Quraysh repeatedly demanded specific, physical miracles from Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to prove his prophethood, challenging him to split the moon, turn mountains to gold, or bring forth rivers, but Allah often presented the Quran itself as the primary sign, while also manifesting the Splitting of the Moon, though the Quraysh attributed these to magic, showing their scepticism was rooted in stubbornness, not lack of evidence. Despite the refusal of specific on-demand challenges mentioned in the Quran, the Hadith records several miracles witnessed by the Quraysh or early Muslims: Splitting of the Moon: Narrated as a direct response to a Quraysh demand for a “grand sign.” They reportedly saw the moon split in two over Mount Abu Qubays, though many still dismissed it as sorcery. The Isra and Mi’raj: The Night Journey from Mecca to Jerusalem and subsequent ascension to the heavens. Physical Marvels: Multiplication of food and water during times of scarcity and the “weeping” of a tree stump when the Prophet stopped using it for sermons.
