Allah didn’t just forbid calling people hurtful names. He forbade using even neutral ones sarcastically.

Mocking someone’s past. Their appearance. Their background. Calling a convert by their old religion. Labelling someone by the worst thing they ever did, even after they’ve changed.

And then there’s the subtle version. The student who just failed walks in, and the teacher says: “Ah, the star student has arrived.”
No insult. All pain.

Allah sees through the word straight to the intention. Watch what you call people — and how you say it.
