In this clip from our Deeper Look series of Surah Al-Jinn, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan unpacks one of the most sobering Ayahs in the Quran: وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَا لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ عَدُوًّا شَيَاطِينَ الْإِنْسِ وَالْجِنِّ يُوحِي بَعْضُهُمْ إِلَىٰ بَعْضٍ زُخْرُفَ الْقَوْلِ غُرُورًا ۚ وَلَوْ شَاءَ رَبُّكَ مَا فَعَلُوهُ ۖ فَذَرْهُمْ وَمَا يَفْتَرُونَ (6:112). Allah tells us that for every Prophet, He appointed enemies from among humans and jinn, devils who inspire one another, beautify evil deeds for each other and work in coordination. Some humans become so consumed by evil that Allah Himself describes them not as human but as shaitaan in human form.
But the Ayah does not stop at describing that evil network. It gives a direct instruction to the Prophet ﷺ, and through him to all of us: leave them and whatever they fabricate. Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan explains why Allah warns against obsessing over occult groups, conspiracy rabbit holes and the inner workings of evil.
