Instead, we may defend ourselves, make excuses, blame someone else or pretend that nothing happened. But denial can become another form of covering ourselves because we do not want to face what we have done.
The Quran teaches us that real growth begins with honesty. We cannot sincerely return to Allah until we stop hiding from the truth and acknowledge our mistakes before Him and within ourselves.
