Recently, on the 13th June 2026 in Helsinki, Finland, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan popped in to surprise a group of 50 elite Muslim developers, designers, and entrepreneurs at their first ever european “hackathon” event – organized by Diwan.

While there, he delivered a talk to some attendeed during which he laid out an uncomfortable truth: Muslims can protest and scream all they want, but without economic leverage, the world simply does not move. He explains how politics is dictated by economics, why becoming an indispensable economic player is the only real source of influence, and how a corrupt, cannibalistic business mindset keeps the Ummah divided and competing over the same shrinking resources instead of building complementary services that strengthen each other.

He challenges the habit of copy pasting ideas, the insecurity that treats every new venture as a threat, and the trap of building overtly Islamic products that only sell to Muslims. Then he turns to the psychological oppression that stops young Muslims from taking risks: the guilt, the gaslighting, and the difference between honoring parents and surrendering God given rights. Honest, direct, and often funny, this is a challenge to think bigger and build things that actually matter.
