Think about how the Quran describes this man’s frustration. He’s old, he can’t defend himself, he can’t defend his family, and he’s left feeling helpless. Helpless. Alone. Frustrated. No support. Now ask yourself: aren’t these the exact feelings someone brings into a therapy room?

Do you feel helpless? Do you feel like you have no support? Do you feel alone, like nobody understands you? Like you keep trying to communicate, but the people on the other side just get angry and never grasp what you’re actually saying, no matter how clearly you say it? These are some of the most common experiences in people’s lives.

And here’s the point: Allah already named all of it. Your trauma is in the Quran. The feelings you assume are just yours, the ones you’d only say out loud to a therapist, were described by Allah long before you ever felt them. That means you’re not alone in it, and you’re not the first to carry it.
