In this Khutbah Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan takes us back to the Friday after Uhud, when the Prophet ﷺ stood to speak with a wounded face before a grieving community that had lost its men, its savings and its sense of strength.
Through ayat 102 to 104 of Surah Al Imran, he lays out the Quran’s formula for an Ummah that feels broken. It begins with the individual: being mindful of Allah as He deserves, which only becomes possible when we stop obeying reluctantly and find real peace in surrender. يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ وَلَا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلَّا وَأَنتُم مُّسْلِمُونَ (3:102).
From there, we hold on to Allah’s rope together, without letting disagreement turn into division, and remember where we were before Allah guided us. Finally, change does not wait for millions. It comes through a few sincere people who take up a good cause and give themselves to it.
