The world is building flying cars… and young Omar thought the Qur’an was holding him back. ????
He’d rather draw inventions than sit in our halaqa. So when a flying car parked outside the masjid, he took it. It didn’t go well! ????
But I wasn’t going to scold him. The very first command Allah revealed was “Read.” Those who took it to heart gave the world algebra, the science behind the camera and the tools of modern surgery. Faith never held us back.
Then his very first verse answered his question for him:
“Those who remember Allah while standing, sitting, and lying on their sides, and reflect on the creation of the heavens and the earth, saying, ‘Our Lord, You did not create this in vain.’” (Qur’an 3:191)
It all starts with “Read.” Start smaller than you think. One verse a day, with the meaning right underneath. ????
