In this short snippet taken from our Deeper Look series: Surah Al-Muddaththir, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan corrects a mindset that quietly ruins sincerity: acting like Islam, or Da’wah, is something we did as a favor.
Allah says clearly: “Allah is the One who has done a favor to you.” And even Yusuf (AS), while imprisoned, used an opportunity to call others to Allah, then immediately said, “This is from the favor of Allah on us.”
Da’wah isn’t you saving someone. It’s Allah honoring you by letting you be part of it. Don’t ever let the thought enter your heart that you “deserve” something because you helped someone else.
