There are some people among the believers who have been elevated to become the friends of Allah. Who is a friend of Allah? A person who is outwardly and inwardly righteous, follows all commandments of Allah and follows the Prophet’s Sunnahs. The Hadith educates us that Allah will love a person who performs the obligations (Fardh) and goes the extra mile by achieving the obligatory duties, avoid the prohibitions (Haram) and also perform the Nafawil / Mustahibaat (extra prayer/ibadah, non-obligatory deeds).
