What happens when biology meets Python programming?

In this project from Biology Course Batch 1 at Source Code Academia, students will explore the revolutionary science of CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing and learn how to build a Python-based tool for designing guide RNA.

Students will understand how CRISPR uses guide RNA as a biological GPS and Cas9 as molecular scissors to target specific DNA sequences. They will then apply computational biology to automate guide RNA design, identify candidate guide RNAs and off-target sites, evaluate quality, improve accuracy, and reduce human error.

This project is designed to prepare students for the rapidly growing fields of bioinformatics, genetics, biotechnology, computational biology, and medical research.

Help your child move beyond memorizing biology—and start building the future of science.
