In the Quran, Allah SWT mentions that the Sabiqun (the forerunners) will be the nearest to Him in the Hereafter. The Sabiqun are those who excel beyond others in their righteousness and love of doing good deeds – they are the ‘VIPs’ of the Hereafter.

Can we ever become of the Sabiqun? What if we’ve sinned in the past? Does this eliminate our chances of reaching this status? Allah SWT also mentions that we should hasten towards His forgiveness and His Paradise. What does this competition actually look like?
