In Islam, death is viewed as a transition from earthly life to an eternal afterlife, not an end to existence. It is believed to be a decreed, scheduled event where the soul is separated from the body by the Angel of Death, marking the beginning of the journey to judgment. In Islamic teachings, the concept of death as a “prize” or “gift” is specifically applied to the true believer (Mu’min). It is understood not as a tragic end, but as a transition from the hardships and trials of worldly life (dunya) to the eternal, peaceful reward of Paradise (Jannah). The Prophet Muhammad (S) said, “The gift for a believer is death,” because it frees them from the anxieties, temptations, and struggles of this world. Meeting with Allah: For the righteous, death is viewed as the beginning of the meeting with Allah, which they look forward to, and Allah likewise loves to meet them.
