Allegation: Does Dr Zakir Naik encourage and promote sex with slaves and advocate sex slavery?
Dr Zakir Naik: The Indian media also alleged that Dr Zakir Naik is encouraging and promoting sex with slaves and is advocating sex slavery. One Muslim lady went to the extent of saying, that Zakir is equating wives with slaves. All these are allegations and they have got no authentic proof. Yes I am aware that there were on a few occasions, there were questions asked to me regarding the verse of the Qur’an and Qur’an says in several places, that you can have sex with your wife and that which your right hand possesses. Now this word, “That which your right hand possesses” when mentioned in the Qur’an refers to the female slaves. At the time, in the pre Islamic age and in the beginning when Islam came to Arabia at that time when war took place and when captives of war was there, the ladies that were taken they were used as slaves….
