In this episode, the tone shifts fully into promise.

“For the one who feared standing before their Lord, two gardens.”

Why two? Scholars reflected on multiple possibilities: a private residence and a guest estate, variety between experiences, reward for leaving sin and reward for doing good, even the linguistic possibility of gardens upon gardens. What is clear is that this is not a social scene. This is deeply personal.

The imagery unfolds slowly.

Towering branches stretch overhead. Flowing springs appear. Fruits of every kind surround you. Luxurious cushions lined with thick silk. And when you desire fruit, the branch lowers itself, no effort required.

This is not just comfort. It is intimacy. Privacy. Ease without strain. Beauty without interruption.

After scenes of fire and pursuit, the Surah now paints stillness, security and generosity, inviting the listener to reconsider what they might be turning away from.
