In Islamic tradition, Iblis (Satan) overthrew Adam and Eve not through physical force, but through a calculated campaign of temptation, deception, and psychological manipulation, exploiting their human desire for immortality and eternal power. Here is how Iblis caused Adam to fall:
The Approach as a Sincere Advisor: Iblis did not approach as an enemy, but disguised himself as a well-wisher, whispering to them that he only wanted to guide them to goodness. The Promise of Immortality (“The Tree of Immortality”): Iblis claimed that Allah only forbade them from that tree because eating from it would turn them into angels or grant them eternal life. He tempted them with “a kingdom that never decays”. Swearing False Oaths: To make his lies convincing, Iblis swore by Allah to them that he was indeed a sincere advisor. The Psychological “Slip”: Iblis used persistent whispering to weaken their resolve until Adam and his wife disobeyed the command of Allah.
