Before Islam entered his heart, honor was already in his soul.

In this episode of Shaykh Yasir Qadhi’s Sahaba Series, we uncover the powerful story of Uthman ibn Talha, the Sadin of Mecca — the noble gatekeeper of the Kaaba who protected Umm Salama (RA), the future wife of the Prophet ﷺ, when she was stranded and alone. Though he hadn’t yet accepted Islam, Uthman’s character shone through. And after the Conquest of Mecca, the Prophet ﷺ didn’t just forgive him — he entrusted his family with the keys to the Kaaba itself. That trust? Still honored to this day.

This story reminds us: Sometimes, Islam doesn’t change people—it reveals the goodness Allah already placed within them.
