As Muslims, each one of us is a member of many communities. Whether it is our family, our country, or the Ummah, there are bonds between us that span the whole world. We should also care about encouraging positive change for those in our communities, but how should we approach this matter? The Quran tells us: “Truly, Allah will not change the condition of a people as long as they do not change their state themselves” (Quran 13:11).
