Answer By Dr Zakir Naik,Zakaat-ul-Fitr is concerned it should be spent in the place where you are staying, if you are staying in a particular place, it should be given to the people of that place even if you travel somewhere else for example if you travel in the last few days of Ramadhaan and you make Eid in another country Zakaat-ul-Fitr should be given in that place where you spend the eve of the Eid. This is the right opinion though there are some scholars who say that if the people in your area are very well off and they don’t require then they can be given.. you can depute somebody else who gives it to another country where there are more poor people but the right ruling is that as far as possible it should be given in the place where you spent your eve of the Eid so that the people around you, they can celebrate Eid and they can be happy on the day of festival
