What can be said? My heart is numb, my mind is reeling, my tongue cannot express my thoughts.
Madinah? Madinah, the city of the beloved Ḥabīb al-Muṣtafā (salla Allahu alayhi wa salla).
Madinah, the city that was chosen by Allah from all of the cities of the world to be the location of hijra, the seed of Islam, the first capital of the lands of Muslims, the area where most of the Quran was revealed, the resting place of over ten thousand Companions in Baqi, and the land where the body of the most noble and blessed human who walked the face of this earth is preserved until Judgment Day.
And in the month of Ramadan, on the last of the odd nights, a candidate for Laylat al-Qadr?
How? Why? What are you thinking?
And this, following a series of bombings across the globe: Baghdad, Jeddah, Qatif, Dhaka.
O people who still think ISIS is somehow helping the oppressed: do you not see that in their blind rage, they have taken *everyone* else as their enemy? Since they cannot harm the real attackers and enemies of Islam, they then resort to softer targets. *Everyone* becomes just as evil as the real enemies. The tourists in Dhaka, the people of Baghdad, the citizens of Jeddah, me, you, the Muslims worshipping in Madinah on the last night of Ramadan…
When will this madness stop?
Our Prophet (salla Allahu alayhi wa sallam) said, “Madinah is sacred between the two mounts of Ayr and Thawr. Whoever causes any deviation or helps any deviation shall incur the curse of Allah, and the curse of the angels, and the curse of all of mankind! Not a single obligatory or nafl good deed shall be accepted of him” [al-Bukhari].
May the curse of Allah, and the curse of the angels, and the curse of all of mankind be on those who intend to cause death and bloodshed in the Holy City.
O Allah! Protect the people of Madinah!
O Allah! Protect the Ummah of your Prophet (salla Allahu alayhi wa salaam) from this deviation known as ISIS!
O Allah! Guide those who are still unclear in this matter to the truth – allow them to see the truth as truth, and let them follow it, and allow them to see the deviation as deviation, and abstain from it!
We ask you with Your Divine Mercy, Our Lord, to protect us all. Ameen! — END QUOTE –
