An important lesson that we can see around us all the time, is that those who are generous to others, Allah(SWT) will give even them more.
Every Arab that has been raised in Arab lands knows about the father of Adi Ibn Hatim. His fame mainly comes from his father. He was known to be one of the most generous people of the time. It is narrated that once a group of people came to him, he then asked his servants to sacrifice a camel. His servants whispered to him that he fed the last camel to the guests yesterday. He then asked them to sacrifice his own horse in order to feed the people. This is just one of the numerous events where his great generosity could be seen. Therefore, Adi, the son, was raised in this type of environment. As he enters the city of Madinah, people recognized him. This shows you how famous he really was. In the pre-internet era, people wouldn’t know how someone would look like unless they would see them. Yet when Adi entered Madinah, people began chanting, “It is Adi Ibn Hatim”
