The people of Makkah admired wealth, power and status, the ones who could host grand banquets, display their strength and command influence. They were the role models everyone wanted to imitate.
Then came a Prophet ﷺ with none of that. No political power. No wealth. An orphan. A husband whose wife managed the finances. And yet, Allah made him the most honored of creation.
Through him, Allah drew a new line between nama’ah (people of luxury) and nem’ah (divine grace). Value no longer came from possessions, but from faith, humility, and sincerity.
Islam didn’t just change rituals, it redefined worth.
This is the contrast between their system and ours, between the glitter of status and the quiet dignity of faith.
