Is Islam Deen or Mazhab? This is a Short Clip of Dr Israr Ahmed English lecture.
In this video Dr Israr Ahmed, the founder of TANZEEM-E-ISLAMI, Pakistan telling us that Deen is translated as a religion which is a biggest blunder. Religion is a limited thing. Islam is a Deen not a Mazhab. Mazhab is a collection of Laws. We must understand the word Deen in three levels. Basically, in Arabic this word mean is reward. And in Urdu its meaning is “Badla”. And in Persian it’s meaning is Jaza o Saza. You can take one reward either Jaza or Saza. Deen is actually a system, system of obedience.
For Example, Hazrat Yousaf (A.S) wanted to keep with him his younger brother Binyamin but he was not the sovereign there. And it was Deen e Allah which was established by Muhammad (SAW) in Saudi Arabia.
Democracy of today in term of Deen is the Deen-ul-Jamhoor. They can permissible anything lawful because they have sovereignty there and forbid anything to be Haram. They can made permissible to marry two man each other and live together. So, if the king is there sovereignty belong to him and it will call a Deen-ul-Malik. And the system of Life that is given by Allah is called Deen-ullah whose rules cannot be changed.
