Is Praying for Death Allowed?This is a Short Clip of Dr Israr Ahmed English lecture.
In this video Dr Israr Ahmed, the founder of TANZEEM-E-ISLAMI, Pakistan telling us that we all know committing suicide is haram. Committing suicide is a biggest sin because Allah (SWT) has sent you here for testing. And you want to run away from the test. And secondly longing for death or desire for death why because you can’t face the hardships, this is also Haram and not permissible.
And when Hazrat Umar (R.A) went on his last hajj. On his way he lay down on sand and looking to the heavens and then he prayed “O Allah! My body has weakened my bones have weakened and myresponsibilities are increasing every day. So now please take me up and return me to you before I became shame to not fulfil my duties”. This is a different type of praying.
And in the second example Allah said to Mohammad “if youlike your work has beenaccomplished and if you like you canreturn to us and if you prefer you canstill stay if you prefer to stay more wewill grant you more life”.And Mohammad (SAW) said that I don’t want to stay anymore here and I prefer the company of my biggest friend”.
These both are different cases.
