Very rare. The muathin took over from the Imaam at Masjid Ar Rajhi in Riyadh Saudi Arabia. The Imaam had a sore throat and could not continue with the prayers. This is why those with knowledge should always stand right behind the Imaam. They may need to correct him or takeover such as in this case. 28th Ramadan 1440 Qiyamul Layl prayers.
