Of the descriptions in the Quran, and of the blessings that Allah has mentioned of Iman, is the fact that Allah has mentioned that the greatest blessing that he has ever given any person, is the blessing of Iman itself.
In Surah Al-Hujurat(49), Allah(SWT) reveals regarding a group of hypocrites that had just embraced Islam. As they walked into the Prophet’s(S.A.W) Masjid, they were boasting: “We are the new believers”. They wanted to impress the Prophet(S.A.W). So Allah revealed in the Quran: ”They consider it a favor to you that they have accepted Islam. Say, “Do not consider your Islam a favor to me. Rather, Allah has conferred favor upon you that He has guided you to the faith, if you should be truthful.” {49:17}
