A part of Iman in Allah is to understand Allah’s names and attributes. When we say that we believe in Allah, it is essential to also talk about how do we know anything about our Lord. Our only source of information regarding Allah is how he described himself in the Quran and Sunnah.
Allah has told us in four verses in the Quran that to him belongs the most majestic, perfect and beautiful names. Then Allah says to worship him, using these names. Our Prophet(S.A.W) said: “To Allah belongs 99 Names, 100 minus 1. Whoever comprehends them shall enter Jannah”
A common misconception is that we think that Allah has only 99 names. Indeed he has an infinite number of names.
