Allah could have drowned Pharaoh in an instant. Instead, He let the water rise slowly, inch by inch, until it reached his throat. Only then did Pharaoh finally say he believed.

He breaks down the du’aa of Musa (AS) in Surah Yunus (10:88), where Musa (AS) asks Allah to strip Pharaoh of his wealth and seal his heart and explains why that du’aa was not simply about punishment but about removing the tool Pharaoh used to misguide an entire civilization.
The lecture then draws a sharp parallel to modern life: when excess creates extremes of rich and poor, the wealthy become icons and the poor become their imitators. Everyone gets infected with the same virus. Ustadh Nouman also explains why Allah immediately warned Musa (AS) after answering his prayer that the real test was not Pharaoh but his own people.
