Can the right sheikh, the right du’aa or the right prescription fix someone you love? In this clip from the Deeper Look series on Surah Al-Jinn, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan works through three consecutive ayat that answer it.
Even the Prophet ﷺ is told to declare that he holds no power to harm anyone or to guide them (72:21), then to go further: no one can grant him refuge from Allah either (72:22). Ijara is the neighbor who takes you into his house; multahad is the hidden side chamber of a grave. He would find neither if he changed a single word.
Then the turn outward. Nothing remains for him but the balagh from Allah (72:23), speech that does not merely clarify but gets through every wall of distraction until it reaches the heart. That is why the Quraysh feared the Quran while mocking it; it is also why his only safety lay in delivering it faithfully. This ummah finds its safety the same way.
