Building on the reality of human mortality in the previous episode, today we examine the powerful declaration that follows: everything will perish but the Face of your Lord, full of Majesty and Honor, will remain. After confronting us with the inevitability of ending, the surah now anchors us in what is eternal. This contrast reshapes our perspective. The world fades. Human beings fade. But Allah’s Being, His Majesty, and His Generosity are independent and everlasting.
Key points of this episode:
• Does perishing apply only to human beings, or to the entire worldly system?
• What do the attributes “Majesty” (Jalal) and “Honor” (Ikram) truly signify?
• Is Allah in need of our praise or recognition?
• Why does the human being long for permanence?
• Can mortality itself be understood as a blessing?
This episode emphasizes that our strength, status, and honor are temporary but Allah’s sovereignty never diminishes. Perishing is not humiliation; it is transition. It is not weakness; it is the doorway to a new beginning.
