In Islam, difficult events, personal trials, and worldly calamities are interpreted through a framework of divine wisdom, testing, and ultimate purpose. They are generally seen not as random accidents, but as part of a structured life designed to test faith and prepare individuals for the hereafter. Signs of the End Times: Some scholars and Muslims interpret current widespread catastrophes, moral decay, and injustice as signs of the approach of the Day of Judgment (End Times). Divine Wisdom: Sometimes, the reason for a specific calamity is unknown, but believers are taught that Allah’s wisdom surpasses human understanding, and that what seems bad might be good in the long run. How to Respond to These Events: Patience (Sabr): Enduring difficulties without complaining against divine decree. Reliance (Tawakkul): Trusting in Allah’s plan and wisdom. Repentance (Tawbah): Asking for forgiveness. Perseverance: Continuing to do good deeds despite challenges. The ultimate message is that “with hardship comes ease” (Quran 94:5-6), and that these experiences are designed to strengthen one’s relationship with the Creator.
