In the Islamic tradition, the act of eating is not merely a physical necessity but a spiritual communion. The Quran, a guiding star in the lives of billions, illuminates the path with its divine commandments. It is here, within its hallowed verses, that pork is forbidden — a decree that has resonated through the centuries. Allah says, He has only forbidden you (to eat) carrion, blood, swine, and that on which any other name hath been invoked beside Allah. But if someone is compelled by necessity—neither driven by desire nor exceeding immediate need—they will not be sinful. Surely Allah is All-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Al-Baqarah: 173). The Qur’an forbids the consumption of pork meat, Interestingly, this view is not unique to Islam. The Bible also clearly prohibits the consumption of pork. In the bible, it states: “And the pig, though it has a divided hoof, does not chew the cud; it is unclean for you. You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you.” (Leviticus 11:7-8,), Similarly, in Isaiah, it strongly condemns those who eat pork, associating such behaviour with divine chastisement.
