In this short snippet from our new series ‘What Everyone Should Know About Abraham’, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan explains a powerful contrast between the Biblical and Quranic portrayal of Ibrahim’s (AS) legacy. While the Bible describes leadership as a permanent inheritance for all of his children—even those who do wrong—the Quran offers a very different perspective.

When Ibrahim (AS) asked Allah: “Can my children also be given this leadership?” the response was clear.

لَا يَنَالُ عَهْدِي الظَّالِمِينَ
“My covenant does not include the wrongdoers.” (2:124)

This ayah draws a bold line: leadership in the Quran is not passed down by lineage alone. It must be earned through righteousness.
