Allah describes Walid ibn al-Mughira as someone who was given wealth, family, status and a life with no obstacles, yet he still demanded more. That mindset doesn’t bring peace; it often brings loneliness, paranoia and a kind of sickness that money can’t fix. This reminder also restores balance: Islam doesn’t teach us to hate wealth. It teaches us to pursue it with purpose, ethics and gratitude; real gratitude that shows up in what you do, not just what you say.
