In this short clip from our Deeper Look Series of Surah Al-Muzzammil, Ustadh Nouman Ali Khan explores what he calls the oldest relationship we have, the one with Allah and how the Quran invites us to nurture it in the quiet of the night. Surah Al-Muzzammil begins with a call to stand, then gently allows half, less than half, or a little more, showing mercy and flexibility in worship (73:1-4,73:20). This isn’t about perfect math. It’s about building a steady bond with Allah when the world is asleep. We chase relief in noise and movement, yet the Quran teaches that real calm settles in the heart through remembrance of Allah (13:28). Night prayer is not an escape from reality. It gives the strength to face it. Even a small, intentional portion can reshape your day and your decisions.
