Qarun lived among Bani Isra’eel while they suffered under Fir’awn, yet he accumulated enormous wealth while his own people remained oppressed.

His success was not innocent. According to the explanation in this lecture, he benefited by helping the system that was harming his own community.

That changes the question we ask about wealth. It is not simply, *”How much did you make?”* It is also: What did it cost? Who was harmed? What did you have to compromise to get there?

Not every form of success deserves to be celebrated.
