In this video Dr Israr Ahmed, the founder of TANZEEM-E-ISLAMI, Pakistan has telling us that the word Shahid means the present one. And it was the last words of Muhammad (SAW) in sermon of his last Hajj “Now it is a duty of all the present ones to convey the message to them who are not present”. If some accident happened and you saw somebody killed someone so you are eye witness of the scene.
So, we are witness (Shahid) of Allah in this world.
