Rajaf, Surah Al-Ahzab, Ayah 60

In Surah Al-Ahzab, which deals with the circumstances of a conspiracy against the Muslims by Quraysh and other tribes, Allah describes three groups of people in Medina who were working against the Muslims: the hypocrites, those with diseased hearts and al murjifun, the ones who spread rumours in the land. This word stems from rajaf, which is used sparingly in the Quran to describe earthquakes. The connection is that a single rumor can cause a lot of commotion and damage in society to the point that Allah has cursed these people and will never forgive them.
