The Quran frequently implores humanity to reflect upon the gifts of sight and perception, reminding believers in Surah Al-Balad, “Have We not made for him two eyes?” as a testament to intentional, divine design rather than mere biological chance. Far beyond its intricate anatomy of lenses, retinas, and millions of photoreceptors that instantly translate light into vivid reality, Islam views the eye as a sacred window to the soul—a tool meant to witness the beauty of creation, recognize the Creator through His handiwork, and cultivate deep gratitude (shukr).
